Day two of the Origami Owl convention and they saved the best for last. I’m absolutely smitten with the new Origami Owl dog collars, but the two new lockets unveiled today were as equally gasp-worthy!
First up is the new Origami Owl silver bar locket! This gorgeous locket is completely different from anything Origami Owl has ever released. It’s a simple and stunning silver and glass rectangular locket, attached to an adjustable 16-18” chain. Yes, the chain is included! It can hold 6-8 charms depending on the size and shape of the charms. This locket is perfect for layering jewelry and will be a staple in my jewelry wardrobe.
The next locket brought me to tears. Literally. If I’ve been asked once, I’ve been asked a hundred times, if you can put ashes in our lockets. And the answer is no. They are not airtight, so it’s just not a good idea.
But I understand why someone would ask. Origami Owl is all about telling your story through your jewelry and capturing moments inside lockets. Frankly, there is nothing more personal than carrying a piece of a loved one with you. And now, you can!
The Origami Owl Always with You pendant is designed to hold cremains! When they announced it, I immediately started crying, knowing that my mother had been holding onto my grandmother’s remains for this exact moment. I cannot wait to give my mother her locket, so she can keep my grandmother with her forever.
Have you ever been walking through the mall or grocery store and smelled someone you love? When I was in college, I only wore Eternity (along with every other ‘90s sorority girl!). My mother once thought I was behind her in line because she smelled Eternity. Scent can trigger memories like that. Another great use for this pendant is to add a small amount of cotton dabbed in the perfume or cologne of a loved one who has passed. You can just open the top and get a little whiff of your loved one’s signature scent.
